Guest List, Favors, and Cake! Oh, My!

Next month my husband and I will be celebrating with friends and family in a vow renewal ceremony!  We were married on Atlantic Beach along the North Carolinian coast in August 2010. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, a soft, salty breeze blew through the air, and I stood bare-foot in velvet sand with the love of my life, joining our lives together before God, each other, and some of our dear friends. It was such a memorable and wonderful day, I will never forget it!
The Best Day of my life!

Our family, though, was unable to come down to North Carolina. Now that we have moved back to my husband's home town, we are going to have a vow renewal ceremony and our family gets to enjoy this day with us too!

Everything is coming together fairly well. There is only a few things left to do. The favors are almost done, they just need the bows I need to get the crinoline for underneath my gown, then the final fitting. We're waiting on the last few of the response cards then we can start the seating arrangement. That is the only thing I'm a little stressed over lol.

Today I am going with my mother-in-law to select a bouquet and figure out what to do with my hair. The gown I'm wearing is strapless, so I'm thinking simple jewelry and a simple, elegant up-do, I don't want a lot of curls or anything just because my hair is so short still.

All of this is so exciting!

After that the only thing I will need to do is get some shoes!

I'm really excited for all of this. I never really had the whole huge fairy-tale wedding dream thing, but this is still very fun and exciting! My dream wedding was bare-foot on the beach with the love of my life and a small group of people! I was very grateful God blessed me with that and now I get to do this too! I feel like a princess.

One of the things I am really looking forward to is my mother is coming. Like, actually coming! Sent her flight information to me and everything. My mother and I have never really gotten along and we have a very turbulent past and within the last six months we have been talking and decided to bury the ugly hatchet deep, deep underground. I was still weary when we sent her an invitation, because we doubted she would come, but to our surprise, she is coming! I'm hoping all the good-will and pleasant talks are sincere. They were from my end, so I'm hoping for an enjoyable visit.

My sister is coming too and that is going to be awesome! I haven't seen her in almost a year, so this is going to be great!

The list is around 90-ish people, and it's dressy, but we want it to be most of all FUN!!! It's going to be just a huge party and that's what we're looking forward to!

  2. I think it is so cool that you and your mother buried the hatchet. Do everything you can to make sure it doesn't resurrect itself. Maybe you two should get a necklace with a hatchet on it as a reminder.
